Captain Chris – 3p-6p

Everyone calls him Cappy which is a nickname that came from Captain Chris, his on-air name.  Cappy was born and raised in Fort Wayne. He went to St. Jude’s Elementary School and graduated from North Side High School.  Cappy comes from a family of 9 kids while 3 of his siblings are in radio broadcasting.  His wife Jackie is also in public broadcasting and they have three sons.

With his love for music, Cappy started his radio career in the basement of his own home at the age of 13, hanging around his older brothers’ pirate radio station.  While in high school, he got his first part-time job at a real radio station.  Throughout his years, he has been involved in different radio stations around Fort Wayne, and in 2000, he returned to Sarkes Tarzian Inc. as an Assistant Program Director for 101.7.  Currently, he is now the Operations Manager for all three Fort Wayne Sarkes Tarzian stations.

Cappy loves Notre Dame and the Cubs.  His favorite music includes ELO, Rod Stewart, and Def Leppard.  He even likes a little Frank Sinatra.  1940’s classic movies are his favorite to watch and Westerns.   His favorite TV show is That 70’s Show.

Cappy also enjoys motorcycle riding despite breaking his leg on one while in high school.  The freedom and joy it brings is exhilarating.
